50 years of the Cater Museum

A celebration afternoon was held on Saturday, 8th May 2010 in the gardens and rooms of the museum.
The awful weather did not spoil the event and visitors had a memorable time.
The Friends of the Museum had prepared a superb lunch which was enjoyed by friends and so many visitors.
Jim Shrubb, our home-grown Town Crier, was there to welcome governors, trustees and visitors.
Visitors enjoyed activities that included 17th Century painting, singing from the Encore Harmony Group and basket weaving.
Our Member of Parliament, Mr John Baron, presented prizes to the young winners of the recent children's art competition and the Encore Harmony Group were fabulous.
The occasion also saw the launch of brand new book containing scenes of Billericay by our first curator, Harry Richman, by Barbara Birdsall and current curator, Chris Brewster with David Richman.
Copies of the book are available from the museum for £8.50.
